Strange Fruit

About a year or so ago, there was a sudden urgency for people to display their '“love for their country” by hanging flags off anything that stood still for 10 minutes.

That love, it appears, faded as people moved on to pastures new.

Now the flags are left there, tattered, washed out and clinging to branches like strange fruit.
