October Diary | Excerpts From A Busy Month

It’s been quite the couple of months. No self employed person is ever going to complain about being too busy, but at the same time, it feels like the only time I’ve sat down is to work on headshots. Loads and loads of headshots (I have a studio in Garforth, just outside Leeds). I feel incredibly lucky to pay the bills by doing what I love, but sometimes, when it’s incredibly busy, it’s hard to pick up the camera outside of ‘work work’ time to head out with the intention to take more photographs.

Sometimes, the best we can do is just carry the camera around with us and grab the occasional image as we go, which is pretty much what this collection of images is. Random images that represent the back half of September and most of October.

Some are from my daughter’s birthday at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. There’s a few from the National Space Centre in Leicester, a couple from my Auntie’s house, some from a riverside walk in York and some are from around Leeds. The B&W photographs are of one of my oldest friend’s band, playing at his daughter’s 30th birthday party.

It’s a pretty random selection & it’s funny, if you’d asked me an hour ago what I’d done over the last month or two, I’d probably reply “not much really - just working”.
