Passing Time
Last weekend, I was taking my daughter over to see the Humber Bridge. Admittedly, it’s probably not that high on most 9 year old girls ‘Dream days out’ list, but she’s into engineering and science, so we thought we’d have a look at a big suspension bridge. Unfortunately one of my front tyres had a different plan for the day & blew out on the M62, so the science & engineering field trip turned into a lesson on how to change a wheel at the side of the road.

We had no plan, other than the Natural History Museum, which is a given in our household. Other than that, we roamed the streets.

A while back, on a particularly lazy day, I finally resorted to clearing out my camera cupboard. There was a drawer in there that has all sorts of rubbish in it. UV filters, strap attachments, a few cable releases, all that kind of stuff. Every photographer has at least one drawer like that. If you ever need an obscure battery, ask a photographer. They'll have 2 or 3 in that drawer! The sort of stuff that we keep because 'It might come in useful some day'.
Roadtrip to Svolvaer, Norway
A Few years ago, I took a roadtrip to Svolvaer in the Lofoten Islands, Norway. I went with a couple of other Photographers, Phil Kneen and John Coldwell in Phil’s ‘Trusty’ camper van. I say trusty. We only broke down once…
