Lakeside: Castle Howard, Yorkshire

2026 had a hard start for me. At the very end of 2025, my mum unexpectedly passed away. I don’t really want to go into it too much, but it completely changed the start to the new year and I’ve really not been able to produce much work. Not because I didn’t want to, but just because there’s been a lot of plates spinning for the last few months and I’m not going to lie, mentally, it’s been a struggle.

There is light at the end of the tunnel now. We’re getting towards the end of sorting my mums house out. I’m getting back on top of work. Getting caught up and I’m making plans to continue my Yorkshire Coast project as well as potentially starting a new collaboration project.

In the meantime, I’ve still been taking photographs of every day stuff & it’s been really helpful for me while I’m working through everything.

We had a weekend away in the van last month, to Castle Howard. here’s a few images from an evening walk around the lake there. I took them mainly to test a little compact camera that I picked up for documenting the everyday stuff.
